This review is from: ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-MU27-BU 10.1-inch Netbook PC Blue Kindle (11 hours of battery life) (Personal Computer)
I purchased this netbook Asus, after my previous one (reliable S101) died b / c the screen has been damaged by my own carelessness. In this sense, here is my guide 1005PE MU27-acquisition model, which I received yesterday.
Pros:
- Nice feeling keyboard. Study and the spacing between the keys has no effect on myTyping in any way.
- Interesting cover (I bought the unit color blue) and look for the car.
- Installation fairly painless. The first boat which took about 10 minutes or so, and update the latest Windows 7 Starter lasted about 30 minutes not too bad.
– Based on consumer 1GB RAM, Internet surfing was a breeze. Watching videos on YouTube or Flash-based games, everything was in order. But sometimes I find some problems when many programs are running, so I decided to 2GB upgrade (see belowEdit for info).
- Battery life was very, very decent. On a full charge mode, high-performance I was about 7-8 hours.
- Quick recharge the battery.
- Very nice touchpad. Very responsive.
- Low rates for people who do things very basic computer.
Mehs:
- Video resolution was acceptable. Not quite up to part with their counterparts in upper extremity.
- The camera quality is standard 0.3MB
- The device is not as “thin” for my old S-101, which was much easier than mostfeel thin and not as “bulky” of sorts against 1005PE
- Click the button below touchpad a bit ‘bulky.
Cons:
- Shots of Windows 7 starter. Okay if you go straight, to use this netbook to do basic things like surfing the Web, send e-mail, or play on Facebook. But not a good look when you have to do more things with the netbook.
- I said, Windows 7 beats? serious lack of form. And ‘lame that they did not even change the desktop background, without downloadingsome other app, to circumvent the problem. Stupid you can not customize fonts, etc.
- Not a bonding base for the netbook. Even on my previous device S101 least have included a cover cheap little netbook.
- Finger print magnet. Better to have clean hands when holding this laptop!
- Feels heavy type. Seems small, but weighs more than you think. Certainly my old S101 exceeds a fair margin. (And a bit ’slower start than my old S101, although my old OS was XPI still think it was fun to use).
Summary
people – Big computer for the budget conscious
- Not Computer great for people much more than surf the Web, e-mail basic things like art cards available, etc.
- It’s only good if you can live with (many) limitations of the Bare-Bones Windows 7 starter.
- Do not want to blow away, but it’s a decent machine all at a reasonable price
I would also stress that I decided to upgrade the RAMthis netbook. Some ‘because I was not too much the performance of Windows 7 (I still absolutely hate the lack of customization options for the starter-OS. COME ON MICROSOFT !!!). excited But I noticed, sometimes things get a bit ‘lazy when I met several programs.
However, I note, I bought 2 GB of Kingston RAM = 2 GB Kingston ValueRAM DDR2 800 MHz PC2-6400 CL5 SODIMM Notebook Memory (KVR800D2S5/2G) (LinkBelow):
I would advise anyone who wants a bit ‘more from this netbook to refresh the memory. I noticed a big difference in performance after my upgrade. Very, very glad I did.
For those of you who are not familiar with – the Asus comes with 1 GB of RAM is expandable to 2 GB. There is only one memory slot so you have the old chips.
A – (Remember the computer and disconnectRemove the battery before starting this process)
First remove the screw from the memory device on the bottom the word netbooks.
According Remove the old chip (be careful, because it comes at a corner)
Third Create new chip with care (always in a corner a bit ‘) and make sure it clicks into place.
Fourth Replace battery, turn on your computer, press F2 after turning in the BIOS to get and make sure your computer detects the memory.
Fifth All done.
- Note from Kingston’s memory chips had no problems, otherUsers with other brands already mentioned. At least I did not experience any inconvenience. 2GB makes a big difference.

This link is the sun, listening to BIG, documents annd writing. It ‘was a good price, arived quickly and was exactly what I wanted. The netbook is a bit ’slow, but that’s what a netbook, a bit’ slow. However, I was disappointed that the video is playing hurt and disturbed about this netbook. I do not like. If youare quickly looking for something with a stick lapotp. But this is a good and robust portable netbook that works really well.
