I must confess that I am not an expert. I would consider myself just something more than entry level Point and shoot..
I already have a canon powershot SX20IS which I am pretty happy about. However, I wanted something lightweight that I can carry with me all the time, almost like a phone.
Used it for a trip outdoors. My friend has an old SLR which I kind of used to compare my photos with.
Pros: Very very handy. In fact, I bought a cell phone holder to hook it up to my belt as the camera bags, even the smallest pouch was too big. This itself is worth buying this gizmo. Photo qualities are excellent over various light conditions. Obviously, as light falls down, outdoor shots outside the range of the flash do not come out very well. There is a auto mode and then there is a video HD mode, pretty standard. The manual mode allows various standard options. Tried almost all options, the photos looked almost identical to my untrained eye. Even long range shots came out very well.
Battery life decent, however, annoyingly, the transition from half full indicator to almost empty was very quick..
My friends were uniformly impressed by its looks and performance too, it’s that petite.
Cons: 4 x zoom, may not be enough for some.
Hardcore geeks may find the options limited
On the whole, very very happy with this purchase. Definitely recommend it for entry level customers and more. Often find the reviews for cameras very technical and detailed. Please consider this review as coming from a lay person, who just wants decent shots without spending thousands of dollars on lenses or carrying them around instead of enjoying the trip.
