HP Mini 210-1040NR 10.1-Inch Black Netbook – 9.75 Hours of Battery Life Review

My husband bought this 10″ hp for me for our anniversary. He loves FOOTBALL and wanted me to stay in the rooom with him. I love the computer, email and games; so this was a way to keep us together. My only complaint is that we have had to purchase some additional things to make it easy to to hook up to the main computer. I also purchased a mouse and a bag to carry it in. I really like the bag with the handle and strap so that I am not juggling things. All in all I like it really well.

HP Mini 110-1113NR 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook – Up to 3.75 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

I’ve had my hp mini for about a month now, and I just love it. It is super portable, and easy to use. I can connect to the internet in a flash!
I really like the built-in webcam, it has got a lot of use so far and the picture is superior to most webcams I’ve used in the past.
The only thing I don’t like so far is Windows 7, but mostly just because it’s an adjustment. I have, however, mostly adjusted to it by now.
So far I have had no issues with the short battery life. Most places I go I can plug it in, and if I can’t it’s no big deal.
I have a large music library that has barely made a dent in the hard drive.
So far, no complaints, totally happy with my purchase!

HP Mini 110-1113NR 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook – Up to 3.75 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Overview
The Internet is at the center of modern life keeping you connected and informed through email, IMs, RSS feeds, social networking sites and Search. Keeping up often requires time shifting with companion devices like netbooks. Powered by energy-efficient Intel Atom processors, the HP Mini 110 is optimized for Web access and can handle standard productivity apps – but is light enough to carry everywhere at just 2.33 lbs. Its LED anti-glare display reduces reflection that can distract from the visual experience, especially when used outside. The 92% of full-size keyboard enables much more efficient and comfortable use than texting (or typing on smartphone keyboards) for most. Windows 7 makes locating and connecting to hotspots easier and faster than ever. The HP Mini 110 is the perfect device for staying productive, informed and in touch.

HP Mini 210-1070NR 10.1-Inch Black Netbook – 9.75 Hours of Battery Life Review

So far, so good. I’m very happy with my Mini. I bought it because I had owned an HP Mini 1020 for over a year and was pleased with it. My change was because of more advanced technical specifications, such as: a bigger and faster HD(60GB vs. 250GB, muuuuuuch longer battery life (which means I don’t have to carry the charger around anymore), prettier (it’s red), VGA, ethernet and three USB connections, etc.
BUTS… I don’t believe it: IT DOES NOT HAVE BLUETOOTH!!!! My other HP Mini, much simpler, had it. The Amazon product description said this one did but … oh, surprise: no, it does not have it. That’s why I gave it a 4 star rating. So what, I can live without bluetooth. =)

MSI U135-411US 10-Inch Blue Netbook – 7.5 Hour Battery Life Review

I almost jumped on the Asus bandwagon…until MSI came out with this netbook. The U135 is basically an improved version of the MSI wind 100 series. Chicklet style keyboard, bigger touchpad, and a 250gb hard drive. It comes with 1gb of intergrated ram and an extra slot if you want to upgrade (I used 1gb crucial memory; just need to unscrew the entire bottom panel…wont void the warrenty either)
This is my first netbook purchase and I am extremely pleased. All 10″ netbooks have the same specs across the board so it really comes down to looks in my opinion. I didnt want an all black computer, or an all white one for that matter. I originally wanted this netbook in Red but could only find the 3 cell model with 160gb. So I ended up with blue. This netbook feels really soild, and the color is quite pleasing. Surprisingly it isnt a fingerprint magnet either. The 10″ screen is bright and looks excellent from all viewing angles. I am able to touch type on this keyboard with ease and I have a full period and comma unlike some other netbooks where they are half sized. Using the function key for everything takes some getting use to but I’m welcoming the change. The trackpad and single mouse button are very nice. In order to scroll one must tap on the touchpad instead of sliding your finger on the edge…I actually prefer this way. My Hp trackpad is always malfunctioning with regards to scrolling along the side.
Battery life is probably this netbooks’ weakness. Thats what appealed to me about the Asus 1005pe. 9+ hours of battery life would of been great compared to about 5hrs on here, but thats ample for my needs (college) and if push comes to shove I can always find an outlet.
I went ahead and upgraded from windows 7 starter to home premium and everything runs smoothly except Facebook games which run extremely slowwwww so I’ll have to give that up but I knew what I was purchasing and its limitations so Im not disappointed.
This netbook comes with the hard drive partitioned in two. But with the help of a very well written Asus review I was able to change it into one 222gb hard drive without the help of third party software. It also doesnt come preloaded with a bunch of bloatware.
I hope I didnt leave out anything…all in all this is an excellent choice if your in the market for a netbook. If battery life is a major deciding factor for you then this may not be the best choice. I would highly recommend it otherwise.

MSI U135-205US 10-Inch Black Netbook – 7.5 Hour Battery Life Review

I had recently upgraded my notebook to a 15 inch wide screen which was too big to carry. I started looking at net-books to carry everyday. I didn’t need much as I could remote to another system for any thing requiring more horsepower. I started comparing net-books. I wanted the newest Atom chip but didn’t want to spend lots of money having just bought a high end notebook. I had used MSI video cards and Motherboards in the past and been very happy with the quality and a while back 2 MSI laptops had been purchased for our fleet and been noting but exemplary. This net-book fits my needs perfectly. It is lite and the battery lasts forever. I get a good 6 hours with normal use and some power save functions. I highly recommend spending the extra money to get the extended battery. I did an anytime upgrade to win7 pro and have had no performance issues. I was surprised to find that it can play Xvid and H.264 encoded movies without any issues. Even flash video works but not HD flash video but I expected this. The keyboard is easy to use and I don’t find my self making any more typos than normally. The screen is too small to do any content creation with but this is not its fault. Over all this has fit my needs and I am very happy with it.

HP Mini 110-1036NR 10.1-Inch White Netbook – Up to 6.75 Hours of Battery Life Review

I bought this for travel purposes. I used to have an HP Omnibook 800 (it’s still around in the closet somewhere), which is sort of an ancestor of this idea, but with a much higher battery burn rate, due to the technology of the day. I ran Linux on it, and wrote my Ph.D. thesis on the thing. The form factor is great.
Today I find that technology and marketing have finally caught up with the idea of small form factor laptops, and they work better too. The Intel atom is a fairly powerful chip; it runs my software (which is all mathematical in nature, and more or less a direct test of CPU speed) at speeds comparable to a core duo Macbook at a slightly higher clock rate. I’m impressed. Even more impressive is the battery life, which, compared to the macbook, seems virtually infinite. It also loaded Ubuntu 9.10 fairly painlessly: much easier than upgrading OS-X on a macbook, and it seems to work better with limited memory. No reason to use the pre-loaded WinXP, though I kept it around just in case. Over all it seems very sturdy; I’m not worried about dropping this one. This particular model also has an excellent matte screen; glossy screens annoy the bejeepers out of me. Speaking of gloss, the dumb swirlie patterns on the case do help disguise finger markings a bit, however, making the case out of matte plastic (like the Omnibook was) would have worked better.
Downsides: the battery does stick out annoyingly. It’s a clever engineering compromise, but it is a pain when you try to stash the thing in anything resembling a standard netbook case. I haven’t gotten used to the weird trackpad yet: I don’t see why they didn’t stick the buttons underneath like everyone else does. Maybe a trackpad that much closer to the keyboard would have been inconvenient in a different way, so I’ll live with it.

MSI U160-006US 10-Inch Black Netbook – 15 Hour Battery Life Review

This netbook feels fantastic. Its thin and light, has a sold high-end build quality, and works simply as advertised. I recommend installing the netbook version of Ubuntu on here since Windows 7 Starter is a little slow on these basic netbook components. This is a typical netbook with a high class feel.
However, the OEM loaded BIOS is outdated and if you let your battery drain to complete 0% it wont recharge. Once you get this laptop first thing you need to do is to flash the BIOS to the newest version that fixes this bug. I did it on my own, some easy instructions online to do so. After doing this, I am very happy with this product. It works decently for what I need it for (College), and it looks better than the typical cheep plastic netbooks that are out there.

HP Mini 210-1099SE 10.1-Inch Vivienne Tam Edition Netbook – 4.25 Hours of Battery Life Review

I LOVE my HP Vivienne Tam Mini netbook! My husband and I are semi-retired and travel quite a bit and it was a real pain to drag around my 17″ notebook. I especially love this one because it comes with more memory and a bigger hard drive than most of the other netbooks … plus it has the full Windows 7, not the skeletal version. It has been aces right out of the box.
I did buy a wireless mouse (I’m really bad with the pad), a thumb drive with Ready Boost to speed things up and an external DVD drive so I can watch movies on the road and burn my travel photos to disc. That didn’t really add much to the cost and everything fits into a padded “mini” backback. Perfect for traveling. I also use it in the kitchen to read on-line recipes while I cook and listen to Pandora Radio!
My only semi-negative is the battery life. I will probably upgrade to the 6-cell sometime in the future, but the 3-cell one it comes with is not a deal breaker. It’s fine.
