By ” PointLisse “ I’ve been using this laptop for about a week and overall I am very happy with this purchase. The machine is fast, the screen is looks amazing (glossy, FYI), very bright and no dead pixels. Another plus is that there was not excessive bloatware on this unit, and I only had to remove a handful of trial software, un-needed apps and desktop shortcuts to clean it up. The speakers sound good, and HDMI out is a nice option (though we’re unlikely to use it). I like, too, that the outside of the case is matte, so it does not attract fingerprints.
I removed one star for two key reasons:
- The keyboard is “soft”; we’re clicky-keyboard family. It’s layout is fine, comfortable, etc, but it will take some time to adjust to the softness of this keyboard.
- I was unable to connect to my 5GHz wireless N network, but a few comments about this:
I have a dual-band router (Linksys WRT600N), sending both G and N speeds separately. This Acer Aspire was unable to connect to the N, but the G connection was fine. Note that my work laptop connects to the N network without issue. I think it may have to do with a newer wireless chipset in this unit because, although it only connects to G, it’s reporting speeds of 130mbs (over the 54mbs 802.11G standard). Regardless, we’re happy with the wireless performance and speed so far, but disappointing and frustrating it didn’t “just work”.
I tried contacting Acer support and though I only had the unit less that week, they stated that they did not have resources to assist me with this problem and directed me to fee-based support. Frankly, I find that a bit appalling. I happen to be fairly technical, but if you need basic support from a company, it’s best to look elsewhere. This was the main reason for the star coming off.
In summary, if you need an affordable, full-featured laptop, this is a great option, but only if you’re comfortable digging out of your own support holes — Acer is not your friend post-sale. Extra props to Amazon (as always) for crediting me when the price dropped prior to my receiving the computer. (more…)

This Laptop is nice and portable and the size is perfect to take with me. The screen is small, where we saw no problem with creating for me, I’m really enjoying the fact that is shorter and I can cradle in my lap Completely and totally comfortable.
The keyboard has a full numeric keypad, but this does not bother me much. The keys did not feel loose at all, I really like. I’m still getting usedthe position of some of my main used early, particularly backspace, but certainly leave enough. For The trackpad is not bad, but you can change. An important issue that I noticed is that the webcam drivers are so outdated that the webcam is not working when I first saw the computer. I tried to update and I was told that this is already the latest driver available, but it did not work. I ended up removing a whole and the computer restarts and it workswell now. Just a word of warning for those looking for this: the camera, a second operation to have it set correctly. After my set-up was finished, I love it!
My soul purpose for writing is the timeline. But I need to bring your laptop in different places and interview clients. And this “dream” laptop is a pleasure sure. The processing speed is fast for whatI do. The downloads are fast. And the greatest …. this laptop is not more like my old HOT. So, I’m abandoning the “lap” top-cooler! Allowed me to roam freely.
Battery life is excellent! I surfed the internet for more than two hours (from the power supply disconnected) before coming to write this post, my ad showwing 90% … 8 hours left! WOW! Sure, I have some tweaking to the display and power settings. But still, eight hours after two hours of surfing the Web …. I love this notebook left!
NowThe downside. If you are looking for web cam with this laptop, you will be disappointed. You must be the right lighting. Or the lamp may encounter when you are inside. I set the camera to a certain extent, but the quality was not there. But as I mentioned before, the goal is soul in writing.
PRO: Lightweight, battery life!
CONS: The quality of the webcam.
If something should occur in the near future, I add to my post.
I propose that the HighTime Line X for all that is in my position.

This laptop is not without some minor errors. The trackpad can not be as sensitive as I would multi-gestures. Like otherCritics have talked about and not the webcam quality is great. And of course there are some unwanted programs pre-installed that I decided to remove. Personally I think her performance more than makes up for these deficiencies.
The lack of an integrated optical drive is a small inconvenience, but nothing to overcome an external hard drive and an optical drive emulator can not. The only thing I really miss from the Mac OSX native support multiple desktops (although apparently there is no free downloadsavailable, too) … Windows 7 in some way comparable to any other functions that I regularly on a Mac. By ” Jayayess “ Before I turned it on to everyone in my G2 160GB SSD Intel, which was previously put on my Acer 3810t. Then I turned immediately and after a few driver downloads and restart, I had to go to my original desktop and all programs available. This car is fast. I come from a 13.3″ Acer Aspire AS1830T-3721 had come a 1.4GHz SU9400. 1830t This is much faster to open. Applications quickly. I remember when first time the SSD and stuck in my 3810t and it was the increased speed surprised by the severity of the drive. Now Ithat feeling again, and I like it. Editing images is a much more enjoyable. Where as Adobe Lightroom 3 and Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 is a bit ‘slow on the 3810t, both rockets are on the 1830t. Overall, I’m glad I upgraded, as the new Core i5 430UM is an increase in speed compared to Core 2 Duo SU9400 land. The computer is easy to carry and easy and keep me, if by the year 2013 on Intel Haswell and begin to update again.
Positive aspects for the 1830t:
Weighsonly 3.1 pounds.
I5 core is very fast.
The fans are quieter than my 3810t, but at full speed will seem stronger.
fun to see Turbo Boost is not his thing.
It runs very cool, except the left side, a little ‘warm but never hot.
Cons:
Keyboad has more flex than the 3810t.
I just wanted an Alps touchpad, I would get one with Synaptics.
Touchpad not be allowed see better, but I do not know how you and difficult to use in low light.
No as media keys on the 3810t.

That was for my wife, running with my similar aged 11.6 “Acer AS1810tz.
I have the installation and use of their new 1830t i5-430 for several days.
Because he took time learning needs of multilingual features

Acer 1810tz (SU4100), side-by-side and rarely have the 1830t noticed faster.
The new measures 1830t faster in benchmark tests, but most users will not notice.
BTW … Happy to report that Acer Synaptics touchpad dumped in the previous series
in favor of Alps Electric Touch Pad Acer has also recently replaced the hardware
Switch for wireless (Bluetooth and control) with the F3 key.
Overall its a very nice car. The display is bright andsharp.
Build quality seems decent. Keyboard is ok … seems the same as my AS1810tz.
mouse buttons are stiff and Clicky center. Little by little muddy outwardly calm.
I think leading into … but still acceptable as is.
The battery is 5800 mAh 5600 mAh verses of the AS1810, but typical use Stamina
It seems from 7.5 hours in AS1810 has declined approximately 6 hours
the AS1830t again. I think because of the demands of more powerful Intel chip-i5.
I’m sure youcould squeak out for an hour with minimum settings.
It is considerably warmer than my AS1810tz but not hot enough to be offensive. (more…)

I received this on Monday. And ‘a very fun so far. The screen seems very alive and very happy with the 11.6 “format satisifed. The CPU is very capable (873 [...] rating.) Video files from my HD camcorder to play without problems (size MTS / AVCHD). The keyboard is very nice and I have long fingers. If I ran an update check the memory, indicates that the RAM to 2 GB in one slot, and I ordered another 2GB. Another + is that c ‘ is very little heat from the bottom ofIn … very nice. This is probably due to the choice of both AMD and 12W power flow fans from the left.
The whole process is sound and appearance of Laptops in general seems very nice. Chromium is a train Nice. All I can say is both Toshiba and AMD have done a very good job with their products. Highly recommend this so far.
